Following feedback from families, particularly around the delays in the EHCP Annual Review process, the SEND Team have been recruiting more staff, including ones to permanent positions and have also restructured in order to develop a more productive workflow and focus on specific areas. They have restructured the SEND team into two specific groups:

• An Assessment Team - Headed up by Hannah Henderson to focus on the EHC requests and then conducting the EHCP Needs Assessment

• An Annual Review Team - Headed up by Tracy McGill to focus on all aspects of the EHCP Annual Review process

The SEND Team Manager is Michelle King. Jenny Hooper is now working on the SEND Innovation & Improvement Programme which includes areas such as supporting the Year 9 Annual Reviews to ensure they include Preparing for Adulthood, Resource Base reviews as well as the roll-out of the Ordinarily Available (the provision that the local authority expects to be made available for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities in all schools).
