This survey helps us understand the lived experiences of local families with children and & young people who have any special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Your feedback is incredibly important and helps us improve services across Education, Health, and Social Care, as well as the support for families and access to information.
This year's survey is especially important as it will set a baseline for measuring improvements following the recent Ofsted/CQC Area SEND Inspection and the area SEND Reform plans which are being developed.

Areas where your survey input helped last year include:
- SEND Inspection Presentation to Inspectors for the Ofsted/CQC Area SEND Inspection
- Increased focus on part-time timetables and need for reasonable adjustments in schools
- Pan Berkshire Neurodiversity Transformation Programme
- Development of Family Hubs and the support that will be available in them
- The development of the Local Area SEND Reform Plans
- Informing the Short Breaks commissioning of new services
We will use the results from the survey to help shape our work for the coming year as well as feed into the Wokingham Borough SEND Partnership Board and ongoing SEND Improvement work. SEND Voices Wokingham will also use the survey findings to provide feedback from parent carers to any future OFSTED/CQC SEND monitoring visits or inspections.
