Wokingham Autism Partnership are hosting the Wokingham World Autism Awareness Day on Wednesday 2nd April at The Oakwood Centre, Headley Road, Woodley, RG5 4JZ, 2.00pm - 7.00pm.


Are you neurodivergent/autistic/have autism? Whether diagnosed, self-identifying, waiting for an assessment, exploring…
A parent, partner, family member, friend, carer?
An educator, or health, care or service provider?
A colleague, neighbour, local business or community group?

Everyone is welcome! Feel free to join us anytime between 2pm and 7pm.
Attendance is FREE, but please book your ticket in advance. If you're coming with others, remember to book a ticket for everyone in your group, including children, young people, or anyone you support.

On the day there will be numerous information stalls where you can find out more about support, services and activities that are available locally to support neurodivergent people and their families. There will be local charities and support groups there as well as representatives from Wokingham Borough Council Children & Adult Services and local NHS Health services.

Brickies Lego will also be there for those young and old to enjoy!

A number of workshops are being planned to run through out the afternoon, you will be able to sign up for these on the day. The session will include:

3pm - ASD Family Help - 'Speaking Our Language: Understanding Neurodivergent Communication4pm - Berkshire Health NHS Foundation Trust Children and Young People's Integrated Therapies - Communication and Sensory Processing: Where do we start?5pm - Autism Berkshire - Sensory Differences and Executive Functioning

There will be an opportunity to learn more about the Autism Strategy for the next four years, hear about our plans for the coming year, and get involved in helping shape those plans.

FREE tea, coffee, squash and cake will also available (and we will be happy to refill your own personal reusable cup or bottle).

Car parking, including disabled car parking is available at:
Headly Road car park(pay and display)
or Woodford Leisure Centre (free) a short walk away

The venue is on several bus routes: You can use the My Journey Wokingham tool to plan your route.

Doors Open at 2:00PM and finishes at 7:00PM. Book and drop-in when suits you.
