Wokingham Written Statement of Action (WSoA) October Update
The Wokingham SEND Improvement Board met again on the 8th October to review how the6 Task & Finish Groups were progressing with their actions to meet the Local Area WSoA.SEND Voices Wokingham have attended all the multi-agency Task & Finish group meetingsas well as the SEND Implementation Board, it has been a very busy couple of months!
Sarah has chaired 2 meetings of the Co-production at a Strategic Level group and we now have all the plans in place for our Co-production Workshop in mid-November. As well as SEND Voices Wokingham, this workshop will be attended by representatives from WBC SEN,DCT, Commissioning & Public Health, as well as Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and the CCG. At the workshop we will be agreeing what the definition of co-production is for Wokingham and developing a co-production agreement with all the partners. The session is being facilitated by Lara Roberts from Contact (the charity for Families with Disabled Children who support all parent carers forums across England). Lara has a wealth of experience in this area and was previously our NNPCF Regional Representative.
A big thank you to all the parents who attended the Transition to Adulthood Focus groups we ran at the end of September. They provided really valuable information on their family's experiences of the current transition process and areas where improvements can be made.Their experiences have been shared with the Task & Finish Group as well as the SEND Implementation Board. SEND Voices Wokingham and WBC Transition team will also be attending a Preparing for Adulthood Workshop which is being run by the NDTi.
We have also shared all the feedback on “What really matters", “CAMHS" and “Transport"you gave us at the Local Offer Live on 12th October with the relevant groups. Thank you to all those who visited us on the day.
The next SEND Implementation Board meeting is on the 12th November, we will let you know how things are progressing and the opportunities for you to get involved and share your thoughts.
