Thank you to all of you who braved the cold and came to our SEND Services consultation on Wednesday evening
Steve Nyakatawa (SEN/Inclusion Transformation Consultant) from WBC kicked off the evening with a presentation on the findings from Ofsted from areas that have had their inspections of SEND Services. He then explained about the work that Wokingham Borough have been doing to prepare for our Local Area Ofsted Inspection and the SEND self-evaluation that they are working on as part of this. Steve has said that they will share the Self Evaluation with parents when this is ready and that he has already flagged some of the key issues; CAMHS, Short Breaks and co-production and Leadership and accountability challenges, with the Senior Leadership Team.

We then ran our consultation on SEND services is the borough to get feedback from parents on some of the key areas that an Ofsted inspection will look at. We asked parents….

– how could they make things better ?
– what are the risks if nothing changes?
